A PERFECT FIT downrigger mount which slides right on to your Alumatrac--no need to drill into your nice boat! There is no worry regarding the strength of the mount: It will hold up to the toughest of set-ups. (There has never been an instance of the mount failing due to weight/torque.)

This new design ensures a perfect fit: The underside mounting rail is adjustable to fit your boat's track perfectly. The Alumatracs vary from gunnel to gunnel, so to ensure a perfect fit, adjustability needed to be added to the set-up. Now, no matter your model of boat, this mount will provide a perfect fit. (The other brands of mount are not adjustable and do not fit perfectly. Again, the tracks vary according to their tolerances, so the only way to have a perfect fit is to have the mount be adjustable.)

Zero-clearance is critically important for many reasons, so it's a wonder why virtually all table saw and miter saw throat and kerf plates come with either no zero-clearance or soon-to-be-gone zero-clearance. There's one solution to this problem which will last the life of the saw: replaceable zero-clearance.

Lock Jaw Clamping for CNC™

Lock-Jaw Track System is a clamping system which is comprised of three main parts: A Track, a Stop, and a Clamp.

The Track—made of machined 1018 steel—has a chuck-jaw-like serrated top on which the Stop moves and is fastened.  ¼-20 tapped holes run the length of the Stick for both fastening the Stop and engaging the Clamp.   0.2500” holes are two inches from either end of the Stick for locating pins (if desired).

The Stop—made of machined 1018 steel (hardened to 40 RC)—has a serrated clamping surface for a strong grip and a toothed bottom for consistent 0.2500” movements along the Stick’s toothed surface. It has “legs” which dip into the Stick’s middle slot for strength, and it sits a short 0.125” above the surface. To fasten the Stop to the Stick, simply engage the included 1/4-20 button head cap screw through the Stop and into one of the tapped holes. 

The  Clamp tips into engagement by means of its set screw backing and the its beveled screw-engagement surface, forcing a forward and downward grip that is hard to match. Since the Clamp sits on an underlying O-ring, it travels with the screw, in a forward and downward motion—and upward and away when backed out. The Clamp is also made of machined 1018 steel (hardened to 40 RC). 

Mounting the SU Stick couldn't be easier.

Mounting on Metal: Simply drill and tap 10-32 holes in a fixture or table top one-inch apart, and fasten the Stick with taper headed screws (for accurate, repeatable locating: the 82-degree of the screw head mates with the 82-degree chamfer, allowing virtually identical placement and repeatability).

Mounting on Wood: Simply screw in #10 wood screws.

(If additional mounting strength is desired, employ locating pins on the fixture or table top, and mount the Stick on the pins.)

Below-the-Surface Mounting

The Track can be mounted below the fixture/table-top surface so that only the Stop and Clamp are peaking above the fixture/table-top surface, creating a fully solid background for the work-piece--and a clutter-free, unobstructed table top.




The Undulator

The Undulator—as a whole—is a device which allows a wood worker to make “waves” (or undulations) in a board with a hand-held router.

It is comprised of one router plate, two slide guides, two slide poles, one router unit lock, and one undulating jig.

The router plate attaches to the router, and it accommodates the two slide poles which slide through it.

The slide guides slide on either side of the undulating jig (connected to either end of the two slide poles), keeping the router within the jig and on a straight path.

The slide poles connect the two slide guides and allow the router/router plate to slide along the poles (and within the jig), in order to move the router to make cuts in different locations.

The router unit lock is simply a hand-tightened set screw which enters through a tapped hole in the router plate and “sets” into the slide pole. This helps to keep the router on a straight path while cutting.

The undulating jig is the centerpiece. The jig can vary in length, width, height, radial wave, wave pitch and wave frequency—all according to the need of the wood worker’s project at hand.

Here is an example of the name of an Undulator unit and the name classification breakdown:


3R: The undulating wave has a 3.0” radius.

0.5”H: The distance from top of the wave to the bottom of the adjacent wave is 0.5”.

6x24: The jig is 6”x24” in size

There will be a pre-set selection of undulating jigs for purchase. However, if a wood worker needs a jig with specific geometry, he/she can make the order using the name classification system.

If a wood worker wanted jigs of various sizes and wave geometry, all he/she would have to buy are the undulating jigs and router plates—the slide guides and slide poles would stay the same on most jigs.

In essence, here is the concept in a nutshell:

--The wood worker chooses the Undulator jig set that he/she thinks will fit his/her needs. (The correct size and geometry shape.)

--The board is attached to the jig by means of screwing through the jig and into the board.

--The jig and board are then secured to either a table top (by means of screwing through the jig and into the table top) or a “sacrificial board” which is then clamped to a surface.

--The router is attached to the router plate.

--The router unit is placed on the undulating jig.

--The bit depth and placement is set and the lock is engaged.

--A pass is made along the length of the jig.

--The router unit then takes a step over, is re-locked into place, and is ready for another pass.

--Once the board is routed, it is removed from the jig and the two ends are cut off. (The two sections which were screwed into the jig and were not routed.)

(As can be assumed, the “waves” are made by means of pushing the router/router unit over the undulating jig, causing the router bit/router to travel along the undulating path, creating an undulating cut.)

The Tilting, Sliding Router Table with Sliding Fence

is an exciting, new product from Colliflower, LLC. This is Rev 2 of this concept. The first design opened up capabilities in the routing, and this design fine tunes them.

Benefits of Replaceable zero-clearance

Expense -- There's no need to buy a brand new plate every time you want your zero-clearance back. Either buy inexpensive replaceable inserts or make them yourself. Each time an insert is replaced, you have a brand new plate.

Safety — Safety is a huge benefit of zero-clearance. Many (if not most) saw injuries are due to the work-piece being pinched into the gap between the blade and the gap of the throat plate--with a finger or two going with it. With zero-clearance, there is no gap between the blade and plate, resulting in no pinch.

Quality of Cut — With fresh, replaceable ZC, the work-piece will always be fully supported , resulting is less chip-out, blow-out and tear-out. Full zero-clearance can give you a nearly perfect cut with little to no sanding needed.

Durability — With an anodized aluminum plate, your throat and/or kerf plate will last longer than the life of the saw--and make it look good, to boot. 

Cleanliness — With a zero-clearance plate, virtually all sawdust and/or chips will be kept above the table top, meaning less clean-up below, less dust getting into the internal components of the saw, and better dust collection.

Melamine or Expanded PVC --The replaceable inserts are made of super-slick, double-sided melamine (for table saws) which allows for clean ZC and an easier push into the blade and over the throat plate. The 1/4" melamine inserts allows for extra sturdy application. Miter saw replaceable inserts are made of durable expanded PVC for indoor or outdoor use. The flexible 1/8" PVC inserts allows easy slip-in, slip-out replacement without removing the kerf plate.

How long will true zero-clearance last?

True zero-clearance can be gone in a matter of hours. Blade angle: Every change the angle of the blade on either a table or miter saw? Once multiple blade angles are used with the same insert, zero-clearance is diminished. Vibration:  No saw blade travels in a perfect rotation. In just a few hours of use, that wobble-effect will cause the ZC slot to widen, resulting in less and less zero-clearance. Blade change: Do you use different blades with different kerfs? Once a blade with a larger kerf is used, the zero-clearance slot is widened and will not be perfect for a blade with a smaller kerf. That's why inexpensive, replaceable ZC is the answer.
